Camp willowale academy volunteer opportunities

Come and join the Camp Willowdale Academy team this summer. Now in our 4th year, Camp Willowdale Academy is a Christian day camp for children between the ages of 3 to 12.

At Camp Willowdale Academy, our summer student volunteers work directly with the campers. Roles include assistant leaders, activity leaders, kitchen duties, preparation and clean-up duties, and all others who care directly for the campers who attend CW for the summer.

In exchange for service, summer student volunteers are provided with an opportunity to complete their mandatory 40 hours of community involvement activities as part of the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

As well, summer student volunteers will be included in all our staff outings and get-togethers (which will be paid for) and have an incredible summer working in a fun and enriching environment, meeting and collaborating with other youth students while gaining valuable experience for future employment.

Because we want to make sure our campers have the safest and most enjoyable experience possible, our hiring process is very thorough. Camp Willowdale Academy requires a minimum 2-week commitment from all prospective volunteers. If you are interested in applying for a summer volunteer position this summer, the necessary steps are listed below.

We encourage you to apply as early as possible. Camp could not run without our many volunteers!

Steps to becoming a Camp Willowdale Academy Volunteer

  1. Pick up a copy of our Camp Willowdale Academy Volunteer form at your Guidance Office (or wherever volunteer opportunities are posted. You can also download and print a copy of the form at these links:

  2. Complete the form (it can be handwritten or filled in using Excel) and drop off/mail the form at our church/camp offices. The address is:

    Please keep in mind that all emailed applications will still require you to come in person to sign the waiver portion of the form.

    Please include Camp Willowdale Academy Volunteer Form in the subject line of your email.
  3. All staff new to camp must fill out the Reference information.
  4. The manager/camp director will contact you in regards to the status of your application.
  5. Based on your application and references, you may be contacted for an interview (in person or by telephone).
  6. Based on the outcome of all of these steps, you may be offered a position for the dates you requested.
